Confidentiality
New York Mental Health Counselors Association is committed to providing a safe, place for veterans and/or disaster survivors and their families to talk, that is within the limits of the law. No information will be released to any party with the following exceptions:
- If you give written authorization to release information to a particular person, such as a physician or another mental health professional.
- If you are an immediate danger to yourself or to others.
- If there is reason to suspect child or elder abuse/neglect
- Under court order
